Here's a quick update on my ninja animation. This will be part one of the animation. I took a run cycle I made with the boris rig and then modified him as a ninja. Part two will be a run and a jump with my a touch of story. Its been a lot of fun animating!

Running
As well as storyboarding and production planning I have been animating, as always! Its what keeps me going at the moment. I admire jason ryan's non-technical approach to CG as it helps most of us hand drawn animators get to grips with computer animation. Stay tuned, more coming soon!

More poses. . .
I have found these quick pose tests to be excellent exercises for animation. Especially since posing are one of the most important principles to acting animation. (Top strength, middle excitement, bottom balance). I love this rig, I also made a video (with music!):

Character Walk
I had a week animate a character walk. With exercise, I wanted hogan to be holding a prop. I also wanted him to be upset. The idea came from an experience that happened to me when I was young.

Juicebox
(rig credit to aau)
Anyway, back to drawing board, or animation drawing board, computer animation board... ugh.. I have unveiled my juice box! A while back, I was talking to a friend about doing the sack pantomime in CG. He then decided to give me this wonderful juicebox rig!
The idea of the animation was to create an acting test through a simple object, where the object walks, sees something, reacts to it and walks away. The concept of the flower came from my quick thumbnails below (soft pencil on animation paper) and the personality of the juicebox came from my crazy housemate who likes to destroy things.

Current Showreel
Today was the deadline for Framestore
Summer Internship applications. Myself and my friend Marc have applied (both of us have never made reels before). On Friday morning, I traveled on a coach to London, with this in my hands.
